True Plug & Play in Windows 10. Just install it onto your motherboard and it works straight away. No messing around with drivers etc.

This one worked. Windows 11 booted up properly and the card appeared in Device Manager. Replaces another unit that didn't work on my PC.

Excellente carte Firewire PCIE, immédiatement reconnue par Windows 11 et tout de suite opérationnelle.Capture sans problème cassettes mini DV à partir d'un caméscope Sony HDR HC3E, avec Première Pro ou HDVSplit. Les produits Startech sont un peu plus chers mais au moins on n'est jamais déçu du résultat.Je recommande ce produit

Had no issues, plugged in the card, downloaded ScenalyzerLive 4.0 (be sure to download from the official site and get a free key to unlock it) and start converting your videos. To decrease file size, I recommend using a software called Handbrake, it's a freeware and works well. good luck!

Something about this Firewire 400 card and my external hardware just don't jive. This weekend it just stopped playing nice with my outboard gear. Live and learn.

This card would not work on my brand new (yr. 2020), "ASUS ROG Strix GT15." My PC is running Windows 10 on the ROG Strix B460 Motherboard, (with a 10th Gen i7). The PC does not recognize the card as existing in the Device Manager.IMPORTANT:I had later tried the StarTech (PEX1394B3) card and it also did not work. Other cards that I tried (which did not work either), were the; Vantec UGT-FW210, the Sedna Model 3e1i-via-FBA (with VIA chipset), and also the ELIATER - Model: 8541587525.As I mentioned, NONE of the above cards worked.THE SOLUTION:In my basement, I had an old model; Star-Tech PEX1394A2 (now discontinued). It was installed in an old Windows 8.1 computer, (circa. 2013)... Out of sheer desperation, I removed the old StarTech PEX1394A2 card and I installed it in my new ASUS computer, and it operated 100% perfect... Thank goodness!Sadly, StarTech discontinued the original PEX1394A2 card. Something with that old cards chip set is superior to anything on today's market. The old card's chip-set was the; "JMicron JMB381."The replacement that StarTech now has for their original PEX1394A2, (their newer: PEX1394A2V2) is a different chip-set (VIA), and it is not fully compatible with the newest motherboards being produced for the latest 10th Gen i7 PC's with Windows 10.StarTech, PLEASE look into this and up-grade your design of the (PEX1394A2). If it were not for me luckily having one of your old original PEX1394A2 StarTech cards laying around I'd have a $2,000.00 computer as a paper-weight.

The firewire card provides me the ability to capture videos from my Sony Handycam Mini DV camera into my Pinnacle Studio 24 software. It works very well.
