Worked great on my enco mill from the 80's. Big tip for those worried about removing the spring from the housing, clamp the housing in a vise inside the wrist of a leather work glove. When you push out the spring from the housing this will keep it from going anywhere or causing hazard. This spring comes with a metal band to retain the spring and allow install by simply taping it into the housing similarly to a piston ring compression tool. I did have to bend over the end of the spring a little bit so that it fit within the wall of the housing diameter, but this was easy with a hammer and a file.

I have like 6 Bridgeport mills in my shop and I have to buy one of these every ten years or so between all the machines, can’t expect too much from one but I would say a decade or more of operation is pretty good for the price, definitely watch some install videos if you haven’t done it before
