The Westinghouse Ceiling Fan and Light Remote Control lets you enjoy the convenience of adjusting fan speed and light levels without ever having to leave your seat. This remote lets you choose between three fan speeds (high/medium/low) to help maximize your comfort, and includes a full-range light dimmer for a customized lighting level. It replaces the use of a wall switch and can be used with most ceiling fan brands. This remote control features wireless operation and it can be operated from a distance of up to 40 feet. The receiver must be wired to the fan at the ceiling, fits most ceiling fans and the remote uses a 9-volt battery (included). CUL US-listed, and compatible with most ceiling fan brands, this 120-volt/60-hertz remote control can handle a fan maximum of 1-1/4 amps and a light maximum of 300 watts. I had another ceiling fan remote control for several years. The light was okay while using incandescent bulbs, but once I changed to LED bulbs, I found then extremely dim, maybe half their rated lumens. I switched to other bulbs and came to the conclusion it was probably the remote.This purchase was to replace that remote, and this time the LED bulbs are much brighter. This turned out to be an excellent replacement. I have a second fan light and bought a second remote for it as well. I'm very happy with the lighting.The only issue I found with this remote is that the fan speed buttons seem to be labelled in reverse. You would expect "1" to be low fan speed, "2" medium, and "3" high, right? Nope, other way around. I ended up marking "H", "M", "L" next to the buttons in the correct order. At least "0" is correctly the off button. For that reason I took off a star from my rating. It's the same for both, so it's not a wiring mistake.Other than the mislabeling, this is a great fan remote.

Excelente producto, lo use para el westinghouse harmony que tiene 2 aspas, este ventilador tiene 4 velocidades y el Control solo tiene para 3 velocidades así que la velocidad más alta no funciona pero la verdad nunca la ocupé ya que si es mucha potencia, el control si tiene pila y fácil de instalar.

I installed the controller myself in 10 minutes in an old fixture where the old remote didn't work any longer. Instructions are simple. You don't need an electrician for this. Suggestion: If you have several of these remote controlled ceiling light/fans, clearly mark each remote to indicate which light they are controlling. Remember it is by radio signals. If you take a remote into another room it will still control the light fixture it is paired with. If you mix them up you may think the battery is dead, while someone else thinks they have a ghost in their room playing with the light fixture.

The numbers are inverse what I expected. Level 1 is the most powerful, 3 the least. Complicated to fit in the base of my fan but eventually found the necessary images to show me EXACTLY where it needs to go in order to fit.

This remote worked fine but it was too big to fit in the ceiling bracket or the fan housing. So working but not fitting is not much better than not working in the first place. Why on earth does this thing need to be so big? It is a small wireless receiver, an IC and a switch. They make cell phones smaller than this thing. You can buy full x86 computers a quarter of the size of this thing. Honestly it is terrible.

Works amazing! Have a house built in the 60s and all of our fans are set up on a single switch so to turn the light off and on and keep the fan on, we always had to walk into the room and pull the string. Purchased this for a room with switches on the opposite sides of the room that wouldn't accommodate the built in wall control. As per another person posted, I mounted the holder by putting the top screw from the wall switch plate into the bottom hole of the bracket and works like a charm! I will definitely be getting one for the other switch on the wall :-)as for the comments I've seen about the receiver being too big, it is the standard size of receiver and no, it will not work with all style ceiling fans. The wider the base the better, and if you have the resources, you can always put it above the ceiling, but that's a lot more work than I think most people are willing to do. I have been using it for about 4 months now without any issues with the signal as well. Great product!
