I’ve been an electronics technician for 50 years. This desoldering station work great and is comparable to much more expensive units. I’m glad an assortment of consumable parts are included. I use this desoldering station to service my tube guitar amplifiers.

I’ve been restoring old audio equipment for a while now and have always used a cheap solder sucker and soldering iron to remove components. I decided to pick this up and holy smokes, why in the heck didn’t I buy one years ago. No more messed up solder pads. This thing works amazing, it’s incredible, and worth every penny! Only gripe is the soldering iron plug is different than the same brand soldering station so the irons are not interchangeable, it’s stupid. Like why use a different plug when the irons are exactly the same. Anyway, still worth it even if it was twice the price I had no idea these things work sooo good.

So far I have used it one time and I must say it made the job incredibly easy. Suction was great control of temperature for soldering was excellent. Very easy to use very satisfied at this point.

Instructions are poor to fair. I was trying to desolder and getting zero suction. I read the instructions again and repeated the setup again. Nothing. I started to think my unit was defective so I opened it up and started testing continuity of wires and touching up the solder joints inside. Kept testing and testing. Nothing. Somehow I figured out that you not only have to let it warm up fully, but you have to let it sit another 2 minutes *before* it will even allow any suction. Suction doesn't seem very strong so I am not expecting great results with desoldering. Soldering has worked as good as any other brand new soldering iron.

Works well as long as you clean it after use. Before turning off make sure the heated tube is clear by using the provided tools. Also put a dab of solder on the tip before shutting it off. Once the gun cools take out the tube and clean the spring filter. It can be hard to clean and I have had to take a torch to it to remove stubborn solder build up.I like the fact that you get some spare consumables with it (like the spring filter).
