I just got this, so I can't speak to the durability yet, but I'm very satisfied with my initial testing. Will update this review later on if necessary.This thing is so much more convenient than moving my corded soldering station outside and running an extension cord every time I need to do some soldering to a vehicle. I already had a 20V DeWalt battery, so it was pretty cheap to get started. I selected this unit because I noticed the soldering iron itself was removable and looked exactly like a Hakko 936 clone. This seems to be the case, though I haven't confirmed the irons/tips are interchangeable, yet.It heats up quite quickly, like other reviews say. The part that holds the iron is made of metal and seems pretty sturdy. When you power the unit off it keeps showing the temperature until it drops down to 100C, which is an excellent design choice and good attention to detail. Bonus points for the free solder wire they included.Very happy so far and don't really have anything negative to say about it. The only slight con might be that it doesn't feel like a substantial piece of hardware by itself, as it's pretty lightweight, but that changes once the battery is attached.

Did the job with out a problem. The solder that comes with the iron isn't good so I would recommend using better solder to experience its optimal performance. Overall it works great and gets the job done. The plastic may feel cheaper compared to popular power tool brands but that wasn't too noticeable. The usb and the type C ports work great as a powerbank.

So here is a mechanics take on this who does electrical system and modern engine swaps. I bought because I have dewalt power tools and get tired of using my butane soldering iron when I’m not close to a power outlet. The pro’s inexpensive, the 20 volt battery keeps it from falling over easily,The stand for the iron is aluminum and on top of the unit and using it in a carpeted vehicle that helps. Heats fast. Has a cool down mode we’re the display stays on showing the temperature drop and the power led pulse’s until it’s cooled down. Cons doesn’t hold settings even plug into a battery so every power on you have to set Fahrenheit or Celsius or desired temp. Plastic feels and looks cheap but it’s under $30 so doesn’t really bother me. I would buy a soldering cleaner sponge and container to go with it it doesn’t come with one.

The iron performs great and is comparable to the Weller brand models I have. Really easy to use, set up and a bonus with the USB Type A and Type C. Do recommend, using at a minimum a 5.0 amp hour battery.

I took a chance on something. I wasn’t sure of when I bought it and it takes a lot to satisfy me but this thing is actually pretty dam cool and alt better quality than I expected by a long shot heats up super fast and it lasts forever on a 6 amp hour battery highly recommend this thing for anyone I soldier and heat shrink every light I put on my truck and trailers and I really surprised how fast it is

this was a test, and really i had low expectations.however, this now is super handy in the garage.now this sits on a bench ready to go. the temperature while a little off, does maintain within the set range perfectly. batteries last a long time on this unit and you can really get quite a few joints soldered. the tip is small, but the heat is able to go quite high and solders nice. if you put on a thicker tip, this has enough power to heat larger projects if needed.zero issues, no glitches. it just works. way better than expected. the tips are very common size, and i even use ones from my bench station on this and they fit perfectly.this is super nice to keep in the shop, especially if you a Milwaukee guy that already has batteries kicking around for other tools.
