I use this shifter to shift my coco loco and compost when making a seed starter mix. It fits over a 5 gallon bucket perfectly. It is strongly built and a perfect tool for my gardening projects.

I live in a region where we have landscape rock yards instead of grass. I needed to dig up an old tree stump, and I needed a way to sift the dirt and separate the decorative rock. Can't stress how perfect this product was for my task. It is very sturdy - almost no flex. There is a slight downward and inward taper from the rim to form a shallow basket that sits on top of a five gallon bucket. It wasn't long before I had a bucket full of dirt and another one that I filled with rock. The quarter inch mesh was perfect, but I may even go back and add a slightly larger mesh so I can further sort the size of rock.

I bought this soil sifter to separate soil from landscape rocks. It can also be used to sift our compost pile.I was pleased to see how well the sifter is constructed. It fits perfectly on top of a 5 gallon bucket with the metal rim holding it up. But it is small enough that I can use on my own without the bucket. I think it is well worth the price, too. It's heavy duty!

I used it to sift the soil from clumps of lawn that had died. It worked very well and I managed to reuse quite a lot of soil before reseeding!

I bought one 1/4 inch and another 1/8 inch. I was a bit hesitant at first because of the price, but the sifters are large and fit perfectly on my 5-gallon buckets. The sifters have some weight to them and are very sturdy—I'd say 'rock solid' is the best way to describe them. I think they will last for decades if used properly.

Perfectly fits over a 5 gallon bucket. Very sturdy. Allows dirt through easily, sifts out pebbles. Very easy for one person to use rather than the big ones that go over a wheel borrow. Great for gardening.

I bought this product to sift out ash from my charcoal in my bbq. I tried to sift my compost with it but that didn’t work well. I had to grind the worm tailings through the mess with a garden trowel which became very frustrating. Not a product for large jobs

This is a great item. It fits a 5-gallon bucket perfectly. I can now sift my indoor potting mix without making a mess. It is also very heavy duty gauge wire. I was worried it would be like pasta strainer but this item is very heavy duty. It will handle any an all types of soil. With proper care and storage it should last a lifetime. Great item.

This sieve was exactly what I had been hoping to find for vermiculture use. It is incredibly sturdy and well-made, and fits perfectly over a large bucket, so you can sift soil, compost, or gravel through it with ease.
