Without that, I would have returned this item. I have gone through 3 different brands and types of screens. Each a pain in the a55 to get working because of INCORRECT information in EVERY listing. No one knows what they're selling. But this person saved me, and the sale. Because he did the work I wasn't going to do a 4th time.Using the MCUFRIEND_kbv library this screen sprang to life and finally my video game project can move forward. And the moment I saw a penguin bitmap glide along the screen, I felt like this is finally the color screen that can bring my little game project to life.Amazon needs to get on the sellers about accuracy in their description. It would save themselves so many returns. I see people commenting that it doesn't work. Because they're probably loading the same library for the other identical looking blue screens like I did, and those don't run this.

I have been setting up my Arduino components and needed a touchscreen and stylus to interface directly. This resistive touchscreen set is just what I needed. It works as it should and I'm looking forward to using it as I set up the rest of my Arduino system.I recommend this product.

This display seems to work well, once you figure out how to use it. I plugged it in to an UNO and at first tried using some popular drivers out there for displays with the ILI9341 driver. They did not work. Then I noticed that this is 8 bit and the drivers I was using were all for SPI. So, I did some searching and finally came upon the MCUFRIEND_kbv driver, and that worked. I calibrated the touch screen and then tried a demo drawing program, and that worked reasonably well. Since I may be storing this for a bit before final implementation in a project, I did not remove the protective plastic, this may have caused a little error but still, it worked pretty good even with the plastic on.Colours seem good and it is reasonably bright for indoor use (probably not bright enough for use in sunlight but then most displays don't do well in those conditions). It would be nice if they provided a little more info to get you going in the right direction. That is why I give it 4 stars, if they had good documentation I would give it 5 stars.

I was able to finally get this going after finding libraries for similar boards from Adafruit. Nice bright display and colors. Works well with Arduino and really makes my projects look high tech! The touchscreen sensitivity is surprisingly good! Great buy for prototyping!
