Damaged!!! I returned due to damaged in shipping but I did NOT get all my money back either. Look for other products. Horrible customer satisfaction.

I used this solder pot to solder custom motorcycle cable ends. With the proper flux and 60/40 lead solder it works great

Burnt the solder, substantial amount of smoke.... But then maybe I just didnt know how to use it.

Like: Looks good, price is right, gets the job done.Dislike: The chamber is bolted to a cross brace on the case, so the case gets pretty hot (60-70C). Temperature control is a simple dimmer control circuit, no feedback, no calibration, not closed loop. (What did you expect for this price?) I had to set to 6 to get it to melt solder. No heat at the lower end. Dial goes to 11 (This is Spinal Tap).The manual (1/2 page photocopy) is in Chinese. The English is same as info on this product page EXCEPT that it tells you that the white smoke is normal on the first heat up. I suggest you put this thing outside on a fireproof/ceramic/concrete base on that first try.

Lors de mon premier essais tout à fonctionné comme prévu. La fonte du plomb est très rapide. Toutefois il est important d'utiliser du plomb pur, car lorsque j'ai fait fondre un morceau d'étain résine 60/40% une fumée abondante et odorante à enfumée toute la pièce. J'ai du jeter ce plomb/résine et remplacé par du plomb pur. De plus il faut s'assurer de tremper le fil de cuivre dans une pâte pour assurer une bonne prise du plomb lors du trempage.

Does not even start to warm up until temperature knob is turned 50%. Then fine control of temperature not possible. Will have to install a better temperature control unit before using. You get what you pay for!
