Seriously it was really good, have yet to mess with any of the overclocking features but it’s a really nice board so far. Seems stable, which can’t be said for my last asus board but this one is great

I recently had to replace my old motherboard, and after some research, I decided on the ASUS Prime B550-PLUS as a solid mid-range option. I paired it with my Ryzen 7 3700x, and I’m happy to report that it worked flawlessly right out of the box.Easy Setup: The installation process was smooth, and the board had no compatibility issues with my existing components. It booted up without any problems with my Ryzen 7 3700x, which was a relief after dealing with the failure of my old motherboard.Great Features for the Price: The B550 chipset provides great value, offering support for PCIe 4.0. The board also has plenty of connectivity options, including USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, which I find useful for my external devices.Solid Build Quality: ASUS has always been known for making durable motherboards, and the Prime B550-PLUS feels sturdy and reliable.BIOS Interface: The BIOS is user-friendly and easy to navigate. I didn’t have any issues tweaking settings or adjusting fan curves or enabling D.O.C.P, which is a plus for those who like to fine-tune their system.If you're looking to future-proof your build, I would recommend considering an AM5 motherboard for better long-term compatibility with upcoming Ryzen processors. The only reason I went with an AM4 motherboard is because I wanted to hand down my gaming rig to my little brother, and this was a cost-effective solution for my current needs.The ASUS Prime B550-PLUS is an excellent choice for anyone sticking with AM4, offering great value and features at a reasonable price. However, for those planning future upgrades, AM5 might be a better option to consider.

This board is perfect for budget builds and/or first time pc building since the board isn't too complex and simple to work on. Been using board a for several months after building my pc around this board and hasn't caused me problems apart from pcie being gen3 which lowers the full potential of your gpu in terms of fps in games. Ryzen 5000 series CPU is more than capable of running AAA games (Recommend R5 5600 for budget gaming cpu). The BIOS for this motherboard is easy to use and you can just look it up on YouTube on how to use ASUS bios. Would've been great if there was another M.2 nvme slot unless you don't mind using ssd drives. Though you have to buy a wifi/bluetooth card (which are like $35CAD to $50CAD). Other than that, this motherboard is great for starters or someone who needs a budget AM4 mobo.

This is a decent motherboard for the am4 platform, I used this to set up a home theatre PC with gaming capabilities and it is working well so far with no issues. There are good options for extra storage, built-in wifi AND Bluetooth, and since it's mATX it is easier to work within a smaller case. Be warned though, the wifi drivers do not work out of the box and that can halt your Windows setup, so I had to use a spare USB wifi dongle and download the new drivers from the Asus support site. Also, I dislike the flimsy and poorly designed I/O shield and sharp edges of the VRM heat sink.

It arrived quickly along with the processor and memory I ordered to update my system. I liked that I was able to update my existing ASUS desktop with this board with very few issues and an easy fit. The only 'issue' was a minor loss of function in my case which had nothing to do with the motherboard I ordered.

(November 2024)Now, like I was saying for much less then a 1000$ using those componentsMotherboard ASUS Prime B550 plus.Power supply Thermaltake Smart BX1 750W Bronze SLI/Crossfire Ready.RAM Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 X 16) at 3200mhzCORSAIR 3000D Airflow Mid-Tower PC Case – 2X SP120 Elite Fans – Four-Slot GPU Support.Processor AMD Ryzen 5 5500 6-Core, 12-Thread Unlocked FAN included.May have to chip around 50$ for a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card if you don’t have it already.Kingston 480 gb SSD.Graphic card GeForce GTX 1650 4gbLicence for Win 11 PRO, shop and find at different price, you only need a Digital license to make this machine work fine. Mine costed 125$ ca.This kit support without any problem Win 11 24H2 latest release almost a plug and play. (Installed it on the 22 Nov 2024 and never seen that before not one issue.)I'm not a hardcore gamer but I love my dead island, day light, etc... level of games and yes that system will support those and maybe more demanding games (Do your DD to find out, like I said I'm a mild gamer) no problem even projected on a 10 feet X 5 feet wall.So, my goal was to try at best not to invest my saving and have a nice machine that is functional for what I need, and not to flex (Look at me I got a machine that goes around Jupiter and back but it costed me 5000$) LOLYou could also overclock that system with a little bit of knowledge, and the bios readiness unlock the RAM which is set to nominal 2133 or so to full values (Mine are 3200 MHz) at a click away, Rams have a build in profile to facilitate its full profile.And do not forget that you have room for expending for a bigger graphic card, RAM and a bit more room for the processor then what I used.So this was my quest on AMAZON to get something more recent then the Asus P8Z77- deluxe (2012) which is still fine but does not support win 11 due to TPM and for the hardcore gamers Steam do not support any longer the win 7, 8, 8.1 and it is just a question of time before win 10 will no longer be supported by Steam.Yes, I forgot, I can install win 11 on the Asus P8Z77 deluxe (2012) with the removal of the TPM notification but at the long run it keeps bugging more often then I care for, so, for all my software that I have for editing video, creating music etc..... Win 7 on this Asus P8Z77 deluxe works fine, and I know that win 10 will support my old system, so I will experiment more on the subject.In conclusion I got something that kick for less then 1000$ ca and I build it my self from A to Z without any problem (Plug and play I would say) and will last some years without having to cash out money left and right.Keep searching there are nice specials on AMAZON.hope this help a bitDen.
