I would consider myself above the novice level for building electronics. Given that knowledge, the instructions are terrible. They reference parts that have been updated, like a nixie display instead of a 7 segment LED. They tell you to solder the display first, but that blocks other components! Also, one of the sockets supplied is the wrong size for the IC.

Maybe I'm brand new to this but there are no instructions. I'm still learning about resistors and I am not sure where each goes. It also looks like a few resistors are missing or I have similar of the same different than any photos (since I have no instructions to go off.)

A simple enough, functional kit. Board is well laid out and contains correct markings for all components. The directions are only so-so, lacking close up pictures for some of the steps, but the board markings make up for this.My only other complaint, which is more of a personal nitpick, is that all of the components came loose in a single large bag.Optional tool recommendations: A silicone soldering mat, kapton/polyamide tape (to hold things in place while soldering), and depending on the solder you have on hand or plan to use, flux of some kind.

I am not a good solderer. Once something is soldered to the holes, and then removed, I've found out very difficult to remove enough solder from the hole so I can fit the replacement in there. This project is good for someone with more experience soldering than I have. I am not even sure I have enough spare LEDs to finish as I had to pull a few of them. The product seems good, i would just be careful if you haven't done a whole lot of soldering small parts

Carefully soldered this kit together. Worked as soon as I added power. But after setting the time and it went to the second setting. The seconds were not advancing it was stuck at 00. If I continued on it would program correctly. But at the end it would switch to the time you set. But it would not advance the time. It will just stay at the original time you originally set. Obviously it is counting the seconds is when set to display the temperature and time. It would flash the : and after 19 : flashes it would switch to the temperature then switch back. So it is just not showing the time it is keepimg on the display.

Great soldering project kit and it works fine there are a couple of things that could be better. It displays a 24hr clock that can’t be changed, and no date displayed. Simple things which would’ve been nice. Besides that, a fun project.
