I connected this via a Razer Core to my laptop so that might be the issue. Albeit the Razer Core was identified fine and I could control the light settings and so on. Anyway The PCIe card was detected by there seem to always be a problem with this by looking at the Device Manager. I think it was something about not enough resources being available, which does not make sense as I solved my issue for connecting the audio card to my laptop with a thunderbolt hub that uses many more resources.

I needed Firewire support for a Hackintosh running macOS Big Sur. This card does the job. The OS supports the TI chipset natively, so no separate drivers and no configuration is necessary. Installed the card and everything "just worked". One of the easiest upgrades ever. Stability is excellent. No issues at all.

I used it for audio interface, and satisfied with the quality of the product, I would like to recommend if looking for one, it is the FireWire pcie card with Texas instrument chipset.

It allowed me to connect an old Sony HD Camcorder to a PC that didn't have firewire on board. It was an old machine so I had to enable PnP and APIC 2.0 in the BIOS for it to work (1st gen intel i5, no UEFI). But that was no fault of the card, of course. It was a bit frustrating because the card didn't work and first and I started to think maybe it was defective. I wasted time searching for a driver (don't do this, the driver is built into Windows 10, if your BIOS is configured correctly it will work right away). However I spent some time in the BIOS fiddling with options and once it worked, it worked perfectly.

I used it to interface to my old Sony Digital8 Handycam. It worked flawlessly and I am using Windows 10 Pro.

This product did not work with my windows 10 computer. Tried all the recommended legacy drivers. I was trying it on an Acer if that helps.

After upgrading to a new PC, I want to restore FireWire IEEE 1394 ports as I have legacy control console for DAW control. I first took the existing FireWire card out of the old PC only to find that it was a PCI. My new computer had only PCIe slots. I then found that adapters are available to plug PCI cards into PCIe slots. However, buying this IO Great card was even cheaper than a PCIe adapter.So I ordered this card. It was delivered on time and the installation was a plug-and-play. My old FireWire console worked with my new computer right away. Good service and good quality.

Installed into my new Ryzen machine and worked immediately, no driver was needed. Now I can use my older mac external drives and my audio recording interface with my new PC. Awesome price point and awesome deal so far.

The Io crest worked as expected and needed. Good that it has both types of FireWire. Windows 10 installed it with out a problem.

Working perfectly with i7 Skylake + ASRock Z170 Pro4S motherboard running windows and mac. It is powering my duet firewire which seems to work on El Capitan despite the lack of support for this OS X version from Apogee. Just installed the Apogee firewire drivers for previous OS and all is good.
