Product Description

raspberry pi 5

Product Overview

Featuring a 64-bit quad-core Arm Cortex-A76 processor running at 2.4GHz, Raspberry Pi5 delivers a ×2 to ×3 increase in CPU performance relative to Raspberry Pi4. Alongside a substantial uplift in graphics performance from an 800MHz VideoCore VII GPU; dual 4Kp60 display output over HDMI; and state-of-the-art camera support from a rearchitected Raspberry-Pi Image Signal Processor, it provides a smooth desktop experience for consumers, and opens the door to new applications for industrial customers.

For the first time, this is a full-size Pi computer using silicon built in-house at Raspberry-Pi. The RP1 provides the bulk of the I/O capabilities for Raspberry Pi5, and delivers a step-change in peripheral performance and functionality. Aggregate USB bandwidth is more than doubled, yielding faster transfer speeds to external UAS drives and other high-speed peripherals; the dedicated two-lane 1Gbps MIPI camera and display interfaces present on earlier models have been replaced by a pair of four-lane 1.5Gbps MIPI transceivers, tripling total bandwidth, and supporting any combination of up to two cameras or displays; peak SD card performance is doubled, through support for the SDR104 high-speed mode; and for the first time the platform exposes a single-lane PCI Express 2.0 interface, providing support for high-bandwidth peripherals.

RP1

RP1

Raspberry Pi5 is built using the RP1 I/O controller, a package containing silicon designed in-house at Raspberry-Pi.

USB 3 has more total bandwidth, for much faster transfer speeds.

Camera and DSI display connectors are interchangeable, so you can have one of each, or two the same.

More than twice as fast and infinitely smoother

Raspberry Pi5 features the Broadcom BCM2712 quad-core Arm Cortex A76 processor @ 2.4GHz, making it up to three times faster than the previous generation. With RAM variants up to 8GB, this is the fastest, smoothest Pi experience yet.

DA9091 Power Management IC

DA9091 Power Management IC

Integrated with eight independent switch-mode power supplies to generate various voltages required for the circuit board, including a four-phase core power supply capable of delivering a current of 20A, powering the Cortex-A76 cores and other BCM2712 digital logic.

This addition to Raspberry-Pi allows you to connect an M.2 SSD to your Raspberry-Pi, giving you speedy data transfer and super-fast boot.

Power button

Power button

When you plug your Raspberry-Pi5 into power for the first time, it will automatically turn on and boot into the operating system without having to push the button.

If you run Raspberry-Pi5 Desktop, you can initiate a clean shutdown by briefly pressing the power button. A menu will appear asking whether you want to shutdown, reboot, or logout

Select an option from the menu or press the power button again to initiate a clean shutdown.

Was looking for something to run retro games but also act as a media center in our living room. This device is powerful enough to do everything I need it to with 4K video.

I was looking for a Raspberry Pi 5 for a DIY computer I’m trying to make and this was the only one that had an amazing price! So far the Pi runs fantastic and it’s even faster than my Pi 4B which is exactly what I was looking for! The active cooler that comes with the Pi is a steal, it’s so easy to install and it works very well!

I am trying to set up a NAS using a Quad NVMe M.2 HAT that attaches to the bottom of the Pi (Pic#1). I had all kinds of trouble with that for days until I finally determined that there was a problem with the SDRAM on the Raspberry Pi 5 that I had purchased from another vendor, prior to buying from iRasptek. Since my kit from iRasptek was working just fine, I decided to buy just a Pi5 and active cooler from them. It's working perfectly! When I registered this product they followed up with me, just as they did the last time, to say thank you and let me know that they were there if I had any questions. This is only my second purchase from them, but so far their product works (yes, I know they are a reseller), and their customer service is great, whereas I never heard back from the company that sold me the defective Pi5. Pic#2 shows the two Pi5's and a Pi Zero 2W that I have received from these folks. All great so far. Pic#3 is my lab, for anyone who cares. By the way, that Pi5 that failed? It was only $8 cheaper than iRasptek. So, how much is customer service worth to you? How much is your time worth to you? Cheers!
