While slightly more money than some of the knock-offs the Scotty rod holders hold up over time and do the job perfectly. I use them on my inflatable kayaks. Make sure to get the special pads that allow you to mount them without putting holes in your boat. Dollar for dollar they outlast any of the "copies" I have encountered and they can be incorporated with many of the Scotty systems available without having to worry if they will fit. I've used them for over 30 years and have never had any issues. I hope this is helpful!

I bought the backing plate for this as well but didn't feel it was really needed. The other deck mount that came with my kayak didn't have one. They hold my rods perfectly and make them a lot easier to get vs the read stock holes.

Should include basic "works for most" stainless mounting bolts but they don't. Kind of silly if you ask me. This drops the rating one star.Other than that and the diameter of rod they can hold not being exact for my purpose they are great holders. Much better than the bass pro ones I had previously.I've already recommended to people.

I like this version of the Scotty rod holder as it works for all of my different fishing rods, even my fly rods. It’s sturdy and ones I had in the past on other boats would even withstand a hard strike by a 32” Northern Pike when trolling!
